Edward M. Tauber is President of Brand Extension Research. The company was started to provide consulting to companies that own well-known brand names that want to leverage them.
Two methods have been developed that result in new product ideas. One is a consumer research method used and perfected for over 30 years by BER. Using this approach, many new brand extensions were developed that today generate sales of over a billion dollars a year.
The second method uses a database of over 500 successful brand extensions identified by my company. Using this database, over 150 questions were generated that could identify potential new product ideas.
